We’ll leave Marrakech early in the morning, we’ll pick you up directly in riad and go to Essaouira. It’s located about 2 and a half hours from Marrakech and it’s the ideal place for those who love the sea: the Ocean is really everywhere, you can see and hear it from anywhere. We’ll cross 170km which divide Marrakech from Essaouira and pass through the Souss plain, a protected biosphere between the cities of Agadir, Terouant and Essaouira. In this place is cultivated the Argania Spinoza, endemic tree of Morocco. We’ll be able to see the greedy goats of Argan nuts, which cleverly climb the branches to eat them. Along the way we’ll also meet with several Argan Oil Cooperatives and can observe the manufacturing processes, which are still carried out manually by local Berber women. When we’ll arrive in Essaouira you’ll have time to walk on the beach and to visit its blue and white medina, that has been declared UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. You can also visit the souks, such as the carpenters’ souk, where craftsmen work the white cedar wood that grows in the surrounding countryside. Then, you can’t miss the Sqala de la Ville, a beautiful ramparts overlooking the sea from which you can enjoy an amazing view. You’ll have to visit the port, where you can eat fresh fish choosing directly from fishermen’s stalls. We’ll leave Essaouira in the middle of the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Marrakech about sunset time and accompany you directly to your accommodation.
